Position Description:Space & Defense Group – East AuroraSupply Chain & Sourcing ManagerDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Group Level:• Develop and execute strategic supply chain design plans for each product line. Work closely with PLOMs, POLs and Program Management on proposal support, sourcing, and supply chain design to meet cost and program requirements. • Strategic support for all group locations and product lines as requested.• Leverage cross-site commodity strategies to reduce costs, leadtimes and inventory.Site Level:• Lead purchasing efforts to improve on-time delivery, cost reduction and quality of all products and services. Also, lead supply chain risk and contingency planning activities. Focus is on site-wide purchasing operations and resource management.• Coach and mentor staff within the supply chain organization.• Establish clear procedures for purchasing of products & services for all product lines. These include managing of proposals, forecasts, creation of purchase orders, and follow up activities. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:• BA or BS degree in the field of Business, Material Management, Supply Chain, Engineering or related fields.• 8 years of progressive experience (usually post-education) in the field of program management, operations, engineering, materials management or supply chain.• Demonstrated leadership skills including leading cross-functional teams, managing conflict, leading strategy development and developing appropriate metrics.• Proven communication skills, demonstrated ability to build consensus, and establishing relationships to help drive change initiatives and meet goals.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:• Must have or be able to rapidly develop familiarity with the major customers, products, manufacturing processes and suppliers of the division.• Must have or be able to rapidly develop a detailed understanding of purchasing requirements, policies and procedures.• Willingness to travel to suppliers and customers (less than 25%).• Demonstrated abilities to supervise direct reports and lead cross-functional teams.This position reports directly to the East Aurora Supply Chain Manager with strong dotted line reporting to the Space & Defense Group Director of Operations.
