Logistic/Shipping Manager/Supervisor

The Works 15 Glass plant is located in Fresno, CA. The regional area of Fresno County, population over 800,000, represents an emerging metropolitan center with a rich, cultural mix of more than 90 different nationalities. Fresno has all the amenities of a large city, combined with the wonderful qualities of a small, familiar community. Fresno, the only city surrounded by three national parks, provides easy access to Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon. Also, Fresno provides comfortable day trips to San Francisco, the California Coast and the Los Angeles area. The incumbent must be able to assume a leadership role in supervising all aspects of safety with shipping team. Also, schedules the manpower to insure optimum efficiency, coordinates with PPG traffic personnel and common carriers to achieve world class delivery performance and the lowest freight costs. Coordinates and measures all aspects of inventory health and turnover rates. Incumbent is expected to implement changes to bring about productivity enhancements. Creates and maintains written documentation of area policies and procedures. Successful candidate should have a college degree or the equivalent manufacturing work experience. Three years of industrial experience is required. Candidate must have capacity for logical and analytical thinking with excellent communications skills and the ability to meet goals.
