A leading manufacturer of outdoor electrical products, is looking for a Lean Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer located in the city of La Puente, CA.

 

POSITION:  Lean Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer

 

GENERAL NATURE AND PURPOSE OF WORK:
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods to increase productivity and efficiencies of the manufacturing processes and equipment.

Overview
The Lean Manufacturing Engineer will implement flow manufacturing and lead continuous improvement projects in all aspects of manufacturing operations.

Projects will include:

·  Development and implementation of Flow Manufacturing, Visual Management, 5S, pull systems, Kaizan, SMED and other techniques designed to reduce waste and enhance process efficiency.

·  Spending substantial time on the production floor working with Engineers, Technicians, Assembly and Machine Operators to share experiences to identify and implement improvements.

·  Using a variety of Industrial Engineering and Lean tools to quantify and define production operations, spot bottlenecks, and outline possible solutions.

·  Training manufacturing personnel in advanced manufacturing techniques.




EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

·  Bachelor of Science Degree – Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering / Technology).

Special Skills:

·  Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.

·  Good oral and written communication.

·  Able to work independently and as a team member.

·  Advanced computer skills.

·  Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.

·  CAD skills

Experience:

·  Minimum of 2 years in an Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering role involving the development of Lean Manufacturing or World Class Manufacturing concepts.

·  Outgoing personality with outstanding ability to organize and work with a broad range of personnel in a Team Oriented Manufacturing Environment.
