Lean Engineer

Drives implementation of Industry Standard Best Practices in Lean Methodologies in all areas of the business.  Acts as subject matter expert in lean manufacturing area. Leads and teaches others to lead Kaizen activities, workshops, training, and follow-up to drive progress and sustainability of the organizations lean implementation.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Drives lean implementation plan aligned with corporate goals. 2. Participates on project teams to develop solutions to complex problems. 3. Provides support to drive effective lean implementation in all areas of the organization.   4. Facilitates Kaizen activities and teach facilitation to others. 5. Provides leadership and mentoring to organization and monitors daily activities of assigned areas.   Other Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Monitors targets/objectives, and performance standards with respect to Lean initiatives. 2. Be subject matter expert for organization to look to for direction and improvement help. 3. Develop strong relationships within organization at subordinate, peer, and superior levels to drive lean implementation, teach concepts to all levels; keeping stakeholders informed of status. *Will perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Job Requirements: · Degree in Engineering or equivalent · 3-5 years hands-on lean experience in a manufacturing environment in a leadership role. (Kaizen activities-proven results). · Experience with Six Sigma and/or other data driven problem solving tools. · Experience in a corporate environment with Operations, Engineering, Production Control/Logistics, Supply Chain experience. · Demonstrate knowledge in lean mfg. principles, production system design, and product development/launch.  Knowledge of other manufacturing and business processes strongly desired (Supply Chain, Procurement, Design Validation). · Experience in Visual Factory systems · Strong communication skills (written and oral) in all settings/audiences include style, structure and persuasiveness. · Ability to travel within the United States and Canada. · Proficient in a wide variety of computer applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, Access, Auto Cad Division/Department : SoloCup Travel Required : 20-30% LOCATION: HIGHLAND PARK, IL 60035
