Description:Eaton Corporation located in Glenolden, PA (just minutes from the Philadelphia Airport) has an opening for a Lead Mechanical Engineer. The primary function of this position is perform design and development tasks for aerospace applications from initial concept through delivery of qualified hardware and support of field related issues. Communicate effectively with customers, engineers, manufacturing personnel, peers, and suppliers in a dynamic team environment.Due to the nature of our business, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. Additional duties to include: Performs design and development, and validation tasks for aerospace applications from initial concept through delivery of qualified hardware and support of field related issues. Develop new design concepts and modifies pedigree product designs to meet new customer specificationsWorks closely with customers early in the design phase to understand product requirements and offer innovative solutions. Hosts design reviews with customers on site and off site. Clearly explains and discusses drawings, engineering analyses, and manufacturing processes freely with customers. Reviews customer specifications and drawings.Works closely with manufacturing engineers, designers, and suppliers to release detail and assembly drawings to ensure compliance with customer and product requirements. Prepares test procedures and technical reports. Supports product improvement and cost reduction initiatives by responding to Request for Engineering Changes (RECs) and generating Engineering Change Notices (ECNs.) Provides "hands on" support to manufacturing, assembly, and test areas when developing prototype and production hardware. Demonstrates strong problem skills.Strong working knowledge of materials, finishes, machining processes, and machine design practices. Experience with investment castings preferred. Knowledgeable in structural, fluid dynamic, thermal, statistical, and vibrational analyses. Interprets FEA results effectively. Experience in Pro Engineer and AutoCAD preferred.Six Sigma knowledge preferred.Experience in aerospace product design and lubrication design a plusQualifications:Education: B. S. Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. M.S. degree a plus.Experience: 5-7 years of mechanical design / project engineering experience.
