The Lead Engineer, Industrial Design will drive the development of Retail Solutions products. This person will lead the product design and development activities involving industrial design applications for RSA products, assuming technical responsibility for the new product development and sustaining engineering in the site ensuring continuing design and development of quality product solutions, cost effective technologies and strategic platform planning to meet regional group goals & objectives. Lead the Industrial Design group at Chino towards new product concepts, product development, and prototyping and existing product support. Design and develop products using Climate Control New Product Development Processes (NPD) on a cost effective basis to realize product plan objectives in partnership with Global Retail Solutions Engineering Principals for Core Products. Work closely with Product Managers, PMO, Aftermarket and Testing & Reliability RSA to implement and execute a world-class product development strategy. Translate and ensure execution of existing short- and long-range plans for Retail solutions product into team objectives/actions. Ensure Retail Solutions products conform to cost and customer specifications, and that all products conform to local, and regional safety standards and regulatory requirements; responsible for executing the procedures to ensure the overall product liability and intellectual property activity. Lead Industrial Design group at Chino site to coordinate product design and developmental programs and provide guidance on complex design situations and problems. Work closely with end customers and sales force to develop specialty solutions. Provide technical guidance and leadership in dealing with complex customer solutions in industrial design applications. Work closely with Operations Management, Sourcing Managers and MPO RSA to achieve manufacturing productivity through design. Provide the input for the annual budget and ensure that assigned areas operate within established cost controls. Maintain current knowledge of industrial design and technological developments that could be useful and relevant to the business.

Candidates for this position will have an Industrial Design degree (BS) or equivalent. They will have in excess of 10 years experience with a proven track record of successful and high performance execution in a substantial design and product development function. Design for manufacturing and prototyping experience highly valued.
