Laboratory Analyst

Twin Rivers Technologies Natural Ingredients (TRTNI), located in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a growing and innovative company specializing in the manufacturing and sales of natural oil products.  TRTNI is seeking a highly motivated Analyst.  The primary responsibility of the Analyst is to ensure that the laboratory is functioning efficiently and effectively.  The Analyst will be responsible for interfacing between R&D and plant QA to complete various method developments, verifications, and validations.  This position will also assist the plant in diagnosing process related issues of raw materials and/or finished products and may require lab scale bench processing experiments.

 

The person in this role will be expected to be very comfortable personally performing hands-on laboratory development activities.

  Responsibilities

 

Develop and execute bench top chemistry experiments

Perform developmental analytical testing

Interface with R&D and QA to complete various project initiatives

Interface with outside labs for testing needs beyond internal capability

Lead the development and validation of new analytical methods as-needed, with the help of TRT QC professionals.

Work with the QC Technicians to insure existing test methods are accurately being followed.

Maintain a system to insure laboratory instruments are calibrated & maintained.

Provide instrument troubleshooting and repair support as needed

Work with operations to solve processing problems

Assist in production trials of new products

Provide analytical training to plant technicians and/or QC technicians

Manage the analytical co-op program

Manage internal labs for FDA, GMP, and AIB compliance

Manage raw material release program

 Required Skills and Experience

 

Prior experience and a desire to perform bench top chemical experimentation.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced environment

 “Can do” attitude with the ability to juggle multiple priorities

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work comfortably and competently alongside production and maintenance team members

Ability to work effectively with minimal direction provided

Willing to be on-call for analytical troubleshooting support

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Experience with GC and HPLC instrumentation

Strong computer skills

Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent

Familiarity and/or Experience with GMP’s in an FDA-regulated environment

5 to 7 years of analytical experience
