Lab Engineer
Position Summary: Work as a member of the Residential Systems (RS) Lab Engineering Team in delivering accurate and precise data to the RS engineering teams. Design and implement test facility hardware improvements to increase productivity and repeatability. Assist the RS Lab IT Team in design and implementation of facility software to drive continuous improvement. Develop standardized test processes and procedures to assure consistent, repeatable results in the laboratories.Major Responsibilities: • Develop standardized laboratory test methodology (Procedurally and Software implemented) • Design facility modifications and adaptations to meet specific test requirements • Psychrometric Test Facilities, Electric Heat Test Facilities, NVH Sound Rooms, Shipping Test Facilities, Furnace Test Facilities, Airflow Measurement Facilities, and Ad hoc Test Facilities • Drive continuous improvements by leading projects using Six Sigma / LEAN toolsKey Competencies: • Problem assessment and problem solving skills • Work effectively in an open consensus oriented team environment • Conflict management skills • Results oriented individual with an emphasis placed on achieving overall team performance • Fundamental HVAC technical knowledge • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required • Six Sigma problem solving certification or familiarity desired • Knowledge of process control theory a plus (PID, modeling, etc.) • Experience with Six Sigma Lean desired • Experience with heat transfer and thermodynamic computations • Must have mobility to climb stairs and ladders • 10% travel required Education/Experience: • Minimum BS in engineering required (BSME preferred.) • 3-10 years related engineering experience required • Experience in project leadership • Some programming experience required (Labview, C++, Wonderware, VB, etc.) • Furnace experience a plus Apply Now
