Line Leader/Machine Operator

Reports to:  Shift Supervisor  Department:  Production

 

Job Summary:

Assists the department manager with coordination of work assignments, training new employees and completion of daily reports and paperwork.  Handles various minor production problems and is the resource to others in problem resolution and issues.  Leads others effectively and gains cooperation without having formal authority over them.  Acts in place of manager when needed but does not issue discipline.

 Specific Duties

·  Instructs operators

·  Checks completed work

·  Ensures that work is completed according to schedule

·  Assists in resolving problems, delays, and difficulties; takes appropriate action

·  Suggests corrections to ensure consistent production, quality standards, reduced costs, and increased efficiency.

·  Reviews and corrects employee deficiencies to ensure conformance with expected and established standards.  Refers abnormal conditions to manager.

·  Ensures that equipment and machinery operates properly; makes minor repairs and adjustments to production equipment; reports malfunctions to proper supervision or maintenance;

·  maintains accurate production records;

·  prepares reports as requested.

·  Assists and work with employees, ensuring their adherence to Safety, cGMPs and ISO rules and regulations; continuous improvement techniques; lean manufacturing techniques; the 5 S,s; company policies;

·  Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition; completes cleaning logs.

·  Responsible for quality and quantity of finished work.

·  Performs other duties as necessary

Qualifications/ Skills and Abilities

·  High School Diploma or equivalent

·  Good math and reading skills

·  Level of technical ability

·  Able to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
