As a member of the Information Technologies Team, the primary responsibility of the JD Edwards Developer Analyst is to create, utilize and maintain effective communications tools and processes to ensure that timely, accurate business information is provided to the Symmons business community. 

 

Key Accountabilities include:

· Planning, conducting and directing the analysis of complex business problems to be solved utilizing elements of the information systems architecture.

· Extensive Data analysis beyond the user community’s capabilities, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reporting, trouble shooting data integrity issues and  assistance in the creation of new business views and supporting data structures within Enterprise One (J.D. Edwards) and BI tools (preferably Cognos)

· Creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements.

· Designs details of new business system applications and applications changes.

· Diagnose and identify problems with software/hardware; initiate contact with and interact with outside vendors for support.

· Implement changes and additions to J.D. Edwards and related applications, including remote user requirements.

· Service and maintain all aspects of JDE and related applications.

· Develop and provide training for all system users on core applications and tools.

· Assists the Infrastructure Manager with daily operations.

· Assists help desk support for core applications

 

Qualifications:

 Â· Extensive experience and knowledge of manufacturing related business practices, available tools and existing applications. Experience with J.D. Edwards Enterprise One required. To include, Forms Design Aid, Report Design Aid, Event Rules, Business Functions.

· Experience with BI tools, preferably Cognos. Proficiency in the ETL process and the creation of data marts.

· Programming in different languages and environments. Preferably with experience in C, C+

· General knowledge consists of network and operating systems, data base management systems, hardware capabilities. Experience with both MS Windows and the IBM ISeries preferred. Technical and business process trouble shooting skills are required.

· Project management experience working with functions external to IS.

· A minimum of five years experience servicing core business application users at all levels, and providing infrastructure development and maintenance services in an IS organization supporting manufacturing.

· A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Business is required. Equivalent business experience will be considered.

· The ability to impart knowledge to non-technical employees, excellent written and oral presentation skills

· Professional certification in appropriate applications and business disciplines is expected.
