Inventor - Mechanical/Structural Steel Designer

Position Description:

WesTech Engineering, Inc. is a $100 million supplier of process equipment for water, wastewater and industrial applications.  WesTech has grown to become one of the major suppliers in the process equipment industry worldwide and has offices in China, Brazil and here in the United States.

We currently have an opening for a Mechanical/Structural Steel Designer in our Salt Lake City, Utah office. 

Position Summary:
Computerized detailing of Engineered Drawings.

Essential Job Functions:
Design and Drafting general arrangement and detail drawings.
Create  3D Models of equipment using Inventor.
Generate structural/mechanical detail drawings for water, wastewater and industrial equipment.
Read and understand consulting engineers plans/drawings.
Make changes to drawings according to mark-ups.
Parametric Modeling using Inventor.

Non Essential Job Functions:
Other duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:  Associates Degree in Design and Drafting.
Good math skills, specifically trigonometry and geometry.
Experience with AutoCAD 2D.
Experience with Inventor 3D.
Production oriented.
Ability to work on own and manage time appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Design & Drafting.
Shop experience in layout, welding, fabrication and/or piping.
Working knowledge of AISC Steel Manual.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work at a desk and operate computer and phone system.
Walking to and from departments, buildings, and other areas.

Relocation package not available for this position.
