Indirect Buyer
Key responsibilities:
· Represent the Strategic Sourcing Manager (SSM) and Regional Procurement Leader (RPL) at each plant site while maintaining solid line representation to local supervisors.
· Participate in procurements and contracting of non-capital and capital expenditures.
· Gather the necessary information to initiate requests on a local and regional level for proposals and quotations.
· Gather the necessary information on a local and regional level to prepare negotiations on behalf of the SSM and RPL as well as for transactions to be solely completed by the Indirect Buyer position.
· Contract for goods and services on a short-term and long-term basis.
· Generate language for contractual agreements, however all contracts and language will need to be approved of by the SSM or RPL and signature obtained from authorized personnel.
· Be responsible for negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions on the procurement of goods and services at the plant, division, or regional level. (Note: All negotiations would need review and approval by the SSM or RPL before entering into an agreement.)
· Will attend and represent the SSM and or RPL in quarterly meeting with large contracted suppliers.
· Monitor new product additions of safety and MRO items into the local plant location to ensure proper authorizations were obtained and procurement procedures were adhered to before accepting into the system.
Qualifications:
· A BS/BA degree in a business related field is preferred combined or 3 to 5 years experience in business procurement in a manufacturing setting.Preference for experience in the basics of data entry of purchase orders, inventory experience, construction of requests for proposal and quotations, general understanding of procurement procedures.
