Incoming Inspector/ Quality Assurance Technician
Project or Program Description:Performs inspection tasks involving the use of a variety of test and inspection equipment to determine the acceptability of product and components. Works with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and suppliers to improve the quality of raw components and finished products. Â What are the duties of the contractor?Performs functional, dimensional, visual and documentation inspection of incoming components and assemblies using established documents and procedures. Works with Engineering to create Inspection Procedures. Performs daily audits of manufacturing and warehouse using established documents and procedures. Performs various layout or First Article Inspections without aid of detailed inspection information when required. Works with Purchasing, Manufacturing and Engineering to implement process control both internally and externally. Documents non-conformances and conducts Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and generates Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) as necessary. Maintains Quality Records and updates records as necessary. Enters information and data into department database. Performs Final Inspection of product as required. Analyzes defective components and/or assemblies to determine the cause of the defect and recommend the necessary rework and corrective action. Â Background Required:3-5 years direct Quality Control/Quality Assurance experience. Knowledge of Quality Assurance practices and theory. General shop mathematics and basic statistics. Knowledge and experience with SPC and process capability. Ability to manage numerous projects concurrently. Good communication and organizational skills required. Ability to interact with numerous departments. General computer spreadsheet and database knowledge required. Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
