Import Administrator

Hollander Home Fashions is an international manufacturer of textile products selling to major retailers since 1953 with revenues of $300 million, currently operating plants in Georgia, California, Pennsylvania, Texas, Illinois and Toronto, Canada, as well as a joint venture in China. Hollander’s product lines include a broad range of bed pillows, comforters, and mattress foundations, which are filled with synthetic fibers as well as feathers and down. Products are manufactured under our own label, under retailer’s store brands as well as designer brands.

 

Summary:

The Import Administrator reports to the Materials Management Supervisor and supports various administrative aspects of Import and Export.  This person needs to be numbers oriented, have the ability to multi-task multiple projects, work with short deadlines, work in a team environment, detail-oriented, organized, deadline focused and possess good oral and written communication skills.



 

Duties/Responsibilities: Review and assist will all import and export documents between vendor, plant, customer, and financial institutions.Prepare and maintain files for all import and export documents for paper trail and audit purposes. Assist plants and brokers with documents for Nafta.Work with brokers in USA and Canada. Assist and provide documentation for customs clearance and port charges.Work with finance departments on invoicing and payments.Prepare wire transfers and drafts, which include all follow up.Assist in the follow up of Letters of Credit.Prepare and submit Marine Insurance Log for accounting if required.Other duties as required that relate to Direct Shipments and Import follow up.Other duties as required.



Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills. This position requires a forward thinker; someone who takes ownership of his/her position and is innovative.

 

Education/Experience:

·   2 + years of import experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.

·   Strong oral and written communication skills.

·   Good numbers aptitude.

·   Ability to work well as part of a team and interact well with internal and external people.

·   Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

·   Excellent computer skills.
