Job Description IT Support Analyst Primary Function: Responsible for providing technical support and enhancements of PC hardware / software, Servers, printers, LAN, WAN systems used in Thermo Fisher Scientific’s North American / Global operations. Develop automated software deployment and support processes in a Windows AD environment utilizing group policy and SMS. The IT Support Analyst reports to the Manager of IT Infrastructure. Functional Responsibilities: Serve as an IT Support Analyst in a dynamic and challenging team environment. Track problem issues using a Helpdesk software package. Follow all procedures relating to that package. Perform routine system administration tasks according to established procedures. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems with PCs, servers and other communications equipment/software. Provide direct support to end users of company owned computer hardware and software via telephone, electronic mail, remote support tools and in person. Provide support to a sales and service organization consisting of over 300 remote employees. Travel to branch offices and other Thermo Electron locations as needed to install new systems, resolve omputer related issues and work with end users to determine future technology requirements. (The person in this position should expect to travel not more than 10%) Maintain a current knowledge of company standards and policies relating to Information Technology. Document standards and processes on an as needed basis. Maintain current knowledge of technology trends and best practices and apply that knowledge to help meet the needs of the company. Ability to work on week-ends and holidays, as needed. Ability to travel to domestic and international Thermo Fisher Scientific facilities. Provide outstanding customer service. Requirements: Three to five years providing installation and support of Windows desktop platforms (XP, 2000, NT, 95/98) MCSE / MCSA Certifications preferred Experience Troubleshooting and Repairing PC and Server Hardware and Peripherals Experience with MS Exchange / Outlook and supporting end users of these applications AS400 experience a plus Well organized and process oriented Drive for innovation Excellent oral and written communication skills Eager and quick learner Attention for detail Energetic can-do attitude Customer service focused Education: BachelorsJob Level: Experienced
