Description:The primary responsibility will be to support the GPT (SAP) Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) configurator team effort to design and develop a configuration solution for the Engineered to Order (ETO) businesses. Under general direction, this person will work directly with other GPT team members and the ETO businesses to gather requirements, define functional specifications, develop test plans and execute specific activities required to deliver the ETO configurator solution. This includes design, development and testing of the new configurator solution.Essential Functions - Develop functional specifications, design specifications, test plans, security requirements, cost estimates, and resource requirements. - Implement project requirements through purchased software and/or internally developed software solutions to meet customer requirements. - Assist teams in defining work processes and system requirements to meet business processes and data quality requirements. - Identify and document job processes and problems using structured, analytical skills using project management and general IT management methodologies. - Apply change management techniques with regard to applications. - Develops short and long-range plans that are appropriately comprehensive, realistic and effective in meeting goals; integrates planning efforts across work units. - Ensures that the technical/business design matches the complex requirements and system needs, including business continuity/DRP. - Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. - Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.Qualifications:Bachelors in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or related experience.Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in software development using object oriented technologies. Strong technical and analytical skills in the following areas:- Microsoft .NET- Microsoft Visual Basic- SQL Language- Excellent software development foundation- Object Oriented Programming- Able to apply project management and general IT management methodologies- Communicates project status and problems to management- Collaboration in a team environmentSalary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceRockwell Automation offers a competitive benefit plan.
