Human Resources Specialist

The incumbent will be a member of a work group that provides Human Resource service to a broad range of employee and retiree groups across the company.  The service areas include health and welfare benefits, 401k Savings Plan and pension information, life insurance and disability benefits and other HR benefits and services.  They will access this information using a knowledgebase systems application. They will provide service directly with employees via phone contact and also through electronic communication and use a case management tool to track employee calls.  They will also complete electronic personnel transactions to affect the requested changes and/or additions to the systems.  This position is in a small call center type environment.  Average daily calls are 20 - 30 with peak times during annual election.

High School degree or equivalent; post high school training or experience in the human resources, employee benefits or customer/employee service areas preferred.  Needs to have experience in working with computer systems and related software.   Needs to have effective written and oral communication, problem solving, teamwork and customer service skills.  Needs to have a positive and professional approach to dealing with people.
