Human Resources Representative

Titan America is one of the premier cement & building materials producers in the Eastern United States.  We have an excellent opportunity for a Human Resource Representative supporting the Learning & Development and HR functions at our Corporate Center located in Norfolk, Virginia. This salaried exempt position reports to the Director of Learning & Development.  The primary function of this position is to assist in the implementation of a strategic approach to Learning and Development while also performing classic HR functions.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Learning & Development

•        Assist in leading organizational development initiatives

 

•        Design and execute various training sessions

 

•        Manage the Learning & Development and Human Resources websites on the Titan America intranet site

 

•        Maintain and continuously improve the online Titan America library

 

•        Act as project manager for assigned training events to include:  Communications with participants, researching event sites & planning logistics, preparing materials and attending events, training sessions, etc.

 

General Human Resources

•        Assist with recruitment efforts - posting and placing ads, scheduling and conducting interviews for various salaried exempt and non-exempt positions

 

•        Maintain Affirmative Action efforts for region and assist in conducting new hire orientations

 

•        Manage special projects with changing priorities, meeting established deadlines

 

•        Conduct research for HR issues and assist with daily HR activities

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

•        Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or related field, with superior academic performance; PHR / HR Certification and 1-2 years related experience a plus.

 

•        Professional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills that are respectful and value driven protecting confidential information.

 

•        Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and drive for continuous improvement

 

•        Strong organizational, time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects varying in scope, in a fast paced environment.

 

•        Attention to detail and follow through a must.

 

•        Ability to work independently, anticipate customer needs and recognize opportunities for improvement.

 

•        Proficiency in Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint

 

•        Ability to travel up to 30%
