Human Relations Specialist

DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Human Relations Manager, the Human Relations Specialist is responsible for the administration of Human Relations (HR) activities including, but not limited to:
•  coordination of non-exempt recruiting processes
•  interviewing
•  benefits administration
•  wage and salary programs
•  EEO/AAP plan record keeping
•  employee counseling
•  administration and management of other HR programs and employee services
The Human Relations Specialist also provides administrative support to the HR department by maintaining clerical tasks of various HR programs and activities to include:
•  meeting preparation
•  employee activities planning
•  payroll
•  documentation of employee status changes
•  HR systems input
•  reporting and metrics
•  data maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS:
•  High School diploma/GED required with 3 or more years HR administrative experience required OR Bachelor's degree with generalist experience (multiple HR functional areas) in HR or related field
•  Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to make “stand upâ€� presentations
•  Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information required
•  Ability to think analytically, to interpret policies, procedures, practices and laws, recommend and implement solutions to problems, and work independently on detailed projects and special programs is required
•  Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point required
•  Previous experience in SAP and/or ERP system and payroll experience preferred
•  Demonstrated teamwork skills and a strong proactive customer service focus is required
•  Must have a proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively and accurately in a high volume, fast paced environment
•  Experience in handling Employee Relations issues through employee coaching, counseling, disciplinary procedures, and problem identification and resolution strongly preferred
•  Strong knowledge of Human Relations Policies and Proceedures (HRPP) guidelines, benefits programs, and compensation plans is preferred
•  Recruitment process experience with behavioral interviewing skills highly desired
