In order to maintain this record of quality and precision, the company is currently looking for a first-rate Heat Treatment Mechanical Engineer.The position will provide the engineering support for the heat treat engineering group for the design, purchase and support of heat-treat quench equipment. The key roles of this position are supporting the mechanical aspects of heat-treat quench machines, quench machine tooling, and supporting infrastructure systems. Duties include design, specification, documentation, implementation, startup, and ongoing troubleshooting support in a manufacturing shop environment as well as interface with other engineering disciplines within the team. This equipment will include pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Knowledge of industrial piping, pump curves, cooling systems (towers and heat exchangers), accumulators, valves, and safety systems will be required to enable the effective design of this equipment. The selected individual will use AutoCAD and ProE 3D. Attention to detail is critical. The holder of this position must manage their own development, continuously learn through experience and stay abreast of technology changes. Requirements: Job Requirements: Requires a 4-year technology degree, engineering degree or equivalent work experience with emphasis in both mechanical machine and tooling systems along with excellent analytical and communication skills. AutoCAD and ProE 3D proficiency is required. Also required is 3 years experience in a Facilities Engineering type assignment.Experience with heat treat, heat treat quenching, and quenchant pumping systems is desired. Experience with other industrial machine design is also a plus. An understanding of heat treat furnace safety systems is desired. The candidate must also be willing to provide off-shift support on-site or off-site via a cell phone and/or pager. Some domestic or international travel with 2-4 week durations will be required.
