DESCRIPTION: AMD is seeking a motivated HR Manager for their international operations. AMD has offices in Salt Lake City, Utah, Kuwait, and Iraqand employs individuals from all over the world including the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Romania, India, the Philippines, Nepal, Pakistan, Kenya, and Kuwait.

REPORTING TO:  Corporate HR Manager

 

RESPONSIBILTIES:

 

The Kuwait HR Manager is responsible for all aspects of human resources in Kuwait. 



KEY ACTIVITIES:

 HR functions - Responsible for management of HR functions in Kuwait office, including leadership and supervision of 11 staff members.Travel - Management of travel department including employee leave, travel, transportation, letters of authorization, visas, and non-conviction letters for 350 employees travelling through Kuwait in and out of Iraq.Policies & Procedures - Enforcement and compliance of company policies and procedures.Payroll Coordination - Assists with monthly payroll functions for employees in coordination with accounting department. Out-Processing - Manage termination and resignations process.Employee Database - Maintain employee database, including ensuring accurate and up to date employee information.Record Keeping - Responsible for maintenance of employee files, including ensuring all required documents on file and current.End of Contracts - Track end of contracts and ensure timeliness with contract renewals.Medical Requirements – Assist in management and follow up of annual medical requirements for all staff.Promotions & Salary Increases - Provide support for promotions and salary increases and ensure compliance of company policy and standards.Performance Evaluations - Provide support and tracking of performance evaluations and ensure compliance of company policy and standards.Job Descriptions - Assists in preparing job descriptions in coordination with corporate.Employee Relations - Act as a liaison between employees and company, assist in employee grievance issues and corrective actions, make recommendations for the direct supervisor/manager.Operations Support - Provides support to Operations Management to assist in resolving employee related matters.Communication - Work closely with Corporate HR and Iraq HR to maintain good communication and resolution of HR issues. Confidentiality - Must maintain high-level of confidentialityCorporate – Assist with corporate initiatives and projects Occasional travel to Iraq will be necessary

 

BACKUP ACTIVITIES:

 Office Administration – In the absence of the Kuwait Site Manager, responsible for office administration functions, including office space and troubleshooting of general office issues and requests.Housing - In the absence of the Kuwait Site Manager, responsible for housing of local and transient staff to ensure good accommodations and employment conditions at all times.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

 University Degree in Human Resources or Business ManagementMinimum of 5 years HR and related experience (experience in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait a plus)Minimum of 5 years experience of management of processes and people Strong communication and leadership skillsExperience in the development, management, and execution of all HR functionsWell-organized and able to collaborate with other team membersExperience working with Foreign NationalsDemonstrates highest moral and ethical standardsStrong Computer skills/software: MS Office applications, HRISMust speak English as a first language
