Government Sales and Marketing Manager
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for managing the Company’s Government Sales & Marketing programs. Responsible for assessment of existing and potential Government markets, development of Government product strategies, definition of promotional activities and product launch. Activities may include sales support, planning, developing and implementing multiple channel programs, and directing the development of Company Government market requirements for specifics product(s) or product lines. Must have experience with RF/Microwave background for consideration.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Provide sales support to include input into the creation of collateral, presentation and support materials, market research and competitive analysis, training and product development initiatives. Lead Generation & Sales Experience: Accountable for all aspects of the Government Sales & Marketing Department, the duties are varied with a primary focus on lead generation –growing the company’s Government Sales, market share and profitability through the generation of solid Sales leads. Events: Participation in Government and industry trade shows, networking events, seminar management and involvement in local professional associations (selection), promoting products and services at trade shows. Manages the Company’s General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule business.Market Research: Develops relationships with new and existing Government and OEM customers to gather pertinent market information with which will use to drive future activities; Market research analysis, utilizing factors such as pricing, distribution, and product performance. Makes presentations to senior project management and customer personnel. Interfaces with various internal and external customers regarding product issues. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications/Competencies:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Proven track record in closing business and achieving outstanding revenue targets in the Government Sales marketplace. Be highly motivated and be able to work independently. Excellent written communication, verbal communication, planning and organizing, influencing skills, project management and people management Skilled in project prioritizing and delegation. Ability to work under deadlines and be held accountable for results. Strong executive presence coupled with excellent presentation skills. Creativity – ability to think outside the box. Attention to detail and quality awareness. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possess complex program tracking skills.Excellent math aptitude and analytical ability.
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
· Education: BS Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Marketing. Equivalent industrial experience in lieu of education will be accepted at the discretion of Management.
· Experience: Minimum of 7 years (with 10 years preferred) experience in the Sales and Marketing of high value electronic products to the Government and Government OEM sales channels.
· Market knowledge: Excellent grasp and knowledge of the RF/microwave subsystems marketplace and the Government and Government OEM customer base that utilize this equipment.
· Security: Must be eligible to obtain a US Department of Defense Security Clearance if asked to do so.
