Installation/Maintenance/Repair Reference Id: 78215 Career Level: Student (High School) General Maintenance Worker - Kansas City, KS  Your interest in Pitney Bowes Government Solutions(PBGS) shows you're ready for an exciting, challenging career.   PBGS is a division of Pitney Bowes, Inc., a strong company with an 80+ year history in mailing that expanded into all aspects of document management.  PBGS provides administrative and support services to various government agencies by  focusing on solutions through technology, processes and people.   What exactly are our business services?  In short, we handle the administrative responsibilities of government agencies- managing an agency's mail and distribution center, running a copy center, delivering faxes, providing secretarial support, ordering and stocking supplies and more.   PBGS also offers other business solutions, including high volume print and production mail, records management, desktop publishing, electronic documents, and business recovery services.   What's the result?  PBGS lets customers focus on growing their businesses while our teams support their operation.  Inspects containers to identify necessary repairs, makes repairs and completes repair order by performing the following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Visually inspects containers to identify necessary repairs.- Repairs containers per technical manual specifications including replacing tow bars; lift bars; hinge restrainers, pins, and hardware; wheels; rigid casters (with and without brakes) and/or mounts and/or plates; tow pin cable, housing, and hardware; door assemblies, latches; spring cylinder assemblies; shelves and hardware; panel assemblies; brake assemblies; canvas assemblies with lacings.- Operates electric and pneumatic rivet applicators; electric and manual drills; pin punch; die grinder; pneumatic or manual drive socket wrench; cotter key puller/spring tool; pneumatic or manual grease applicator; soldering iron or heat knife; and torque wrench.- Records repair work on reapir orders.- Performs other duties as assigned.PBGS is currently seeking career minded professionals able to work in a fast paced environment.  The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate the following qualifications:  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)- One year mechanic/repair experience in an industrial setting using the tools listed above to make the types of repairs listed above. LANGUAGE SKILLS- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. MATHERMATICAL SKILLS- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTICATES, LICENSES, REGRISTRATIONS PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:- Stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.- Lift or move in excess of 25 pounds.- Specific vision abillities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, perifpheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIROMENT- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts- Noise level in the work enviroment is usually moderate.
