Fulfillment & Warehouse Operations Manager

SUMMARY

Plans, directs and coordinates all aspects of Fulfillment & Warehouse Operations function which is critical component of 7x24 production print, fulfillment and automated mail facility.  Responsible for management of Fulfillment Services and Warehouse Operations.  Manages team of thirty+, as well as equipment vendors, processes and metrics in the predictable delivery of services that meet, or exceed, service level agreements or project completion schedules.  Manages by performing the duties personally or through subordinate lead personnel.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

§  Supervisory Responsibilities

§  Responsible for the overall, direction, coordination and results of Warehouse and Fulfillment Services teams.

§  Manage directly a total of 24 non-exempt, regular workforce and 6-12 flexible workforce employees

§  Responsible for performing all aspects of HR management, including:  interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning, scheduling and directing work; evaluating and managing performance, recognizing and rewarding; addressing issues and resolving problems.

§  Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. 

§  Manage all aspects of  Warehouse and Fulfillment Services environment, including equipment, vendors, processes, and staff to meet and exceed required service levels

§  Plan and manage projects

§  Identify and resolve issues and maintain positive employee and customer relations

§  Establish, track and report staff and business metrics to demonstrate and manage:  organizational health, process improvement and cost of delivery.

§  Optimize organization, staff, schedules, workflow and processes to deliver predictable, quality, cost effective results

§  Perform other duties as assigned

 

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILL REQUIREMENTSEducation Requirement

§  Bachelors degree or equivalent and/or equivalent work experience.

 Experience Requirements

§  3-5 years managing through lead and/or supervisory personnel 

§  5-7 years management experience in print, fulfillment and mailing industries. Strong background in kitting, a plus.

§  Experience implementing process/quality/continuous improvement programs (Six Sigma, LEAN or institutional quality programs) a plus

 

Special Skill Requirements

§  Ability to develop, compile, report and analyze measurements/metrics for all production operations

§  Sound understanding of project management methodology, planning and delivery skills

§  Excellent interpersonal, oral and written, communications skills

§  Excellent attention to detail and follow up skills

§  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Power Point

§  Sound knowledge of  SAP/ Oracle/WMS or related experience

§  Sound understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management principles

§  Ability to motivate and excel within a team structure, while driving individual accountability

§  Ability to drive positive change and innovation

§  Familiarity with competitive and industry practices

§  Ability to cultivate production discipline into the environment 

§  Ability to multi-task and prioritize personal and department work

§  Willingness to go the extra mile
