Financial Accounting Manager

 POSITION SUMMARY: 

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate processing, reporting and analysis of the financial information for the Columbus Plant, a part of the Chemical Coatings Business Unit Manufacturing segment.





POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:   

·         Assure invoices are paid accurately and on a timely basis

·         Accurate and timely financial reports to plants and divisions

·         Establish procedures for day-to-day operations of plants

·         Assure production activity is processed and accurate costed

·         Closing of financial data to general ledger on a monthly basis

·         Accurate physical and perpetual inventory records (finished goods and raw materials)

·         Physical inventory loss at 1% of consumption

·         Accurate and timely payroll processing



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

·         Train, develop and direct duties of personnel within the general accounting and accounts payable area.

·         Development of annual budgets.

·         Responsible for monthly close of financial data to the general ledger.

·         Complete monthly account reconciliations for specified balance sheet accounts by the 15th of the following month.

·         Ensures that Corporate, Division and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles/Policies are followed.

·         Develops organization and procedures for the Chemical Coatings Plants.

·         Organize and supervise the administrative tasks of the annual physical inventory at all plants.

·         Complete monthly book to perpetual reconciliations.

·         Ensure the accuracy of information for the standard cost system (i.e., raw material and finished goods).

·         Complete raw material usage variance and manufacturing yield variance reviews on a daily basis.

·        Ensure accurate weekly and biweekly payrolls for all Plant employees.

 

Position is also responsible for providing financial management support to the Grove City powder plant in addition to daily responsibilities in the Columbus plant.
