About the OpportunityWe want to be there for the life of the equipment. Due to unprecedented growth, there is an opening for a Mobile Service Technician in the territory of Wichita, KS.

Major ResponsibilitiesProvide effective maintenance, warranty and repair services on designated product lines at customer work sites. With minimal supervision, and oftentimes working independently, complete service and repair tasks ranging from the basic to complex, including but not limited to: Hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting, with mechanic and automotive skills Replacing electrical and hydraulic components Evaluating repairs and damage Rebuilding and remounting equipment Performing diagnostics and structural repairs on critical componentsPerform all tasks consistent with Altec and customer safety practices and procedures. Keep skills and knowledge base current to effectively service and repair new machinery and implement new service and repair techniques. Practice clear, consistent, and concise communication with customers, fellow associates and supervisors. Maintain accurate records of all service and repair work.

QualificationsHigh School Diploma (or GED). There is initial and on-going training, but a background in the servicing of related heavy equipment is required  (e.g., farm tractors, cranes, ground support equipment, construction equipment). Must be able to attain CDL license. Overtime and shift work may be required. In addition, a Mobile Service Technician must be able to work hourly schedules that are not uniform day-to-day and must be willing to travel, extensively at times, to meet customer needs. Physical effort is required to move objects that may weigh up to 75 pounds. Frequent stooping, bending squatting and kneeling are required to service and repair equipment. Service related tools weighing up to 75 pounds must be carried to locations to perform the necessary service and repair. Must live in the territory.
