Field Maintenance Technican / Millwright

Installs machinery & equipment according to layout plans, blueprints & other drawings in industrial establishment, using hoists lift trucks, hand tools & power tools. Read blueprints & schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Dismantles machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools. Move machinery & equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers & trucks. Assemble & install equipment, such as shafting conveyors & tram rails using hand tools & power tools. Construct foundation for machines using hand tools& building materials such as wood, cement & steel. Align machines & equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers & plumb bobs. Assemble machines & bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures using hand tools & power tools. Familiar with the use of laser leveling systems.Knowledge of a wide range of manual & machine welding processes, welding standards & how various metals & alloys react to different welding processes & techniques. Applies skill to weld dissimilar metals or part which may vary in size, shape or thickness & require complete penetration & fusion of base & filler metals, including difficult positions, e.g., overhead or in hard to reach locations. Knowledge & skill to employ related trade processes, e.g., brazing soldering, flame & arc-cutting, surface hardening, annealing & metal spraying & may fabricate special fixtures or jugs to use in completing unusual welding assignments Ability to read & interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, technical manuals, specifications & work orders in planning an laying out work, positioning & clamping work or fabricating jigs or fixtures. Skill in the use of hand & power tools, e.g. grinders, sanders, pneumatic guns, files, dollies, hammers, saws, power shears & auxiliary equipment such as power hoists & slings. The work requires standing, walking, stooping, bending, knelling, climbing, crawling and sometimes working in cramped and awkward positions.
