Position Description: 

We are seeking a talented Field Application Scientist to work in a fast-paced, high technology environment. The successful candidate will join a strong and growing team of engineers and scientists supporting existing product lines, and developing new applications and technologies for emerging markets. Focusing initially on pharmaceutical and other chem-industry markets, they will work closely with sales, marketing and opinion leaders supporting pre-sales or marketing activities requiring technical activity, and in some cases pre-sales site visits and product demonstrations.  This person will assist in developing and in some cases delivering technical documentation for Ahura’s analytical devices, and will have significant involvement in post-sales support to customers on scientific, installation and operational matters. The position requires significant customer interface, but also regular discussions with cross functional employees at Ahura.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

·  This position demands strong communication skills and an interest and creativity in applying scientific knowledge to help existing users and cultivate new relationships.

·  Moderate travel will be required (50% on average), and oral and written technical communications (including scientific conferences & tradeshows, trade journals & peer-reviewed publications).

 

 

Skill Requirements: Direct experience in pharmaceutical or related industries Ingenuity, strong problem-solving abilities and pride of accomplishment Practical experience with optical spectroscopy – particularly Raman, FTIR and NIRFamiliarity with data analysis and chemometrics would also be helpfulSome self-governance is expected, but the successful candidate will be operating in an interdisciplinary environment in most activitiesKnowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and other software/internet based applicationsApproximately 40-50% travel

 

Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related disciplinePrevious experience as an Application Scientist within the Analytical Device Market2-5 years experience in a “Start-up� environment.
