The FEP Product Manager will have direct responsibility for the growth and profitability of Tyco Electronics Medical Heat Shrinkable Tubing product line. This line includes products manufactured in Menlo Park and are used among other applications, as components on surgical tools and catheter assembly for the growing Medical Industry. This person will be responsible for developing a comprehensive product line strategy along with a global sourcing strategy that supports long term sales and profitability objectives by working with cross functional teams and a group of seasoned and experience individuals in a manufacturing environment. This person must be able to accomplish the following: • Work with a matrix assigned team (tactical marketing, product engineering, manufacturing leadership and materials) that is responsible for the product line. • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery of a quality product. • Assist in resolving product reliability issues in conjunction with Engineering and Quality. • Document product market requirements. • Assist in development of strategic business plans, market share and product positioning. • Perform market research and analysis for assigned product line. • Help development translating customer's needs into product characteristics. • Define product requirements and assist with development of marketing plans/materials and product launch strategy (working with Corporate Marketing). • Perform analysis to recommend pricing consistent with customer value, cost and profitability targets. • Assist in developing strategy to best leverage sales and distribution channels. • Develop sales tools and training; Coordinate sales training to the selling organization. • Provide support to the sales effort, customer visits, presentations, and technical assistance. Other duties include global sourcing decisions, pricing strategies, capacity planning, capital investment planning, sales and distribution training, distribution strategies, promotional plans, manufacturing cost reductions, identifying and implementing new product offerings, forecasting, and interfacing with customers on product specific issues and new opportunities. Experience and Requirements: • Education in technical discipline (material science, chemical engineering) or business administration. • Aptitude to grasp and communicate technical concepts is a must. • 3+ years in Product Management is preferred. • Knowledge of applicable medical applications (catheters, surgical tools, patient monitoring devices, etc.) is a plus. • Ability to work in Matrix team environment. • Willingness to travel. • Effective presentation and customer management skills. • Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment. • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are required.
