Failure analysis engineer working in the Product Engineering Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
− Organizes failure analysis (FA) resources both internal and external to meet the customer’s requirements and communication needs and systematically improve product quality.
− Process FAs in a timely manner and provide updates in order to keep the customer informed.
− Evaluates the visual, electrical and mechanical characteristics of systems and/or integrated circuits, components, sub-components and systems to determine the cause of failure, including the verification of analog and digital performance.
− Analyzes data and failure reports and recommends corrective actions.
− Requests corrective actions internally and for suppliers as necessary.
− Develops methods, processes, procedures and equipment that will improve the failure analysis process and/or reduce failures.
− Will work collectively with internal engineers and consultants as technical specialists and manage the process and documentation and organize reports and corrective actions to resolve any failures. Updates database accordingly. Responsible for customer communications on FAs.
− The engineer plays an active role in the efforts for quality improvement in the framework of the TS16949 quality management system and APQP. This includes responsibility to investigate, analyze, track and close corrective action requests and FAs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
− Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably EE or ME)
− Desired: Master’s degree in engineering (preferably EE or ME)
− 3 years of working experience preferred but not required.
− Required: strong communication skills, technical aptitude to understand the product and its role in a system.
− Desired: familiar with using various lab equipment (e.g. power supply, multi-meter, parameter analyzer, optical microscope, SEM)
