Export / Shipping Supervisor

 

We are Colder Products Company, a leading manufacturer of specialized quick disconnect couplings for the industrial, life sciences and chemical handling markets. As our global business continues to expand, we have a great career opportunity for an Export / Shipping Supervisor.  The selected candidate will serve as the key contact for import/export and will supervise all day to day activities of the shipping and export functions, ensuring a high quality of service and support to internal and external customers.

 

Specific responsibilities include:Responsibility for the movement of material and merchandise in and out of the country in compliance with U.S. and foreign government laws and regulations.  Developing an Export Management System and other long-term, internal policies and procedures that ensure compliance with US Government Export Regulations and Controls. Owning the day-to-day relationships with shipping suppliers, and monitor all aspects of performance such as cost, time in transit, and proper handling.Managing all activities related to the shipping/distribution of finished product and related goods, and for ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction of all shipments.  Developing department goals and metrics, and implement long-term improvement programs, policies, and procedures to improve the quality of service provided by shipping staff.Supervising all shipping personnel including responsibility for hiring, performance reviews, and employee relations.  Provide daily work direction, training and leadership to staff that helps promote a positive work environment.

 

The ideal candidate for this position will possess: extensive knowledge of standard import/export operational practices and regulations, including an understanding of freight tariffs, and advanced knowledge of transportation principles, as well as a thorough understanding of warehouse/inventory systems and ERP systems proficiency.  Prior supervisory experience, the ability to motivate a team, a strong customer service orientation, and good problem-solving and communication skills are also required.
