Quest Chemical Corporation is a wholesale manufacturer of janitorial supplies located in Northwest Houston. We are looking for a personable and detail oriented Executive and Human Resources Administrative Assistant. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Admin interested in learning about HR with a company of about 100 employees. Duties require about 50% of time on Executive support and 50% of time on HR support which varies based on special projects and recruiting needs.
We are looking for a fast learner who is dependable, types 50+wpm with excellent references and employment tenure. At least three years administrative experience is required; preferably supporting executives. Must have a professional demeanor and communicate effectively with all employees. HR experience is helpful but not required. Intermediate proficiency with Windows XP, Word, Excel and Outlook required. Bachelor’s degree or combination of some college and work experience is preferred.
Responsibilities include:
Executive Assistant:Assist office management related tasks including equipment maintenance and replacement research, supervision of office supply orders, backup and training of Receptionist and managing cell phone account. Support Executive office including making airline and hotel reservations, typing, scanning, filing and other projects as assigned.Update spreadsheets and manuals and distribute as needed. Arrange accommodations for sales meetings and assist with year-end holiday luncheon. Backup Receptionist during lunch hour and days off.
Human Resources Assistant:Assist in benefits administration, recruiting and new employee orientation. Enroll employees in company benefits including health, life, dental, and 401(k) plan. Process change requests and communicate with payroll on applicable payroll deductions. Process COBRA letters as necessary.Assist recruiting process for office and warehouse positions. Post ads, review and sort resumes according to needs, schedule applicants for and administer pre-employment testing.New hire paperwork and safety orientation for office and warehouse employees.Backup for Personnel Coordinator giving plant tours to new employees. Maintain employee files of office personnel and all benefits files.
Additional Requirements:Demonstrates a commitment to quality and works under minimum supervision.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to multi-task.Fluency in Spanish is a plus!
