Engineering Technician/Illustrator
POSITION:Â ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN/ILLUSTRATORÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â DEPT:Â ENGINEERINGÂ

SCOPE OF FUNCTION:
Â
Provide technical assistance to Engineering, Sales, Customer Service and Technical
Support with documentation and illustration of components, assemblies, products, and
customer projects.
Â
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Â
1.  Assist Engineering in design and documentation of existing and new products.
Â
2.  Create project specific shop drawings as required for Sales and Dealers.
Â
3.  Assist Sales and Customer Service in documentation of product technical drawings
     and descriptions.
Â
4.  Creates and maintains fabrication, part, and assembly drawings; custom project
     drawings, and illustrations by free-hand sketch, mechanical, and computer-aided
     drawing techniques.
Â
5. Â Assists Engineering in generating and distributing Engineering Change Orders.
Â
6.  Assists Customer Service and Technical Support in creating and illustrating Product
     Service Bulletins, Installation Instructions, and Troubleshooting Instructions.
Â
7.  Assists Sales and Marketing in developing and updating Product literature & detailed
     drawings.
Â
8.  Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Engineering Manager.

ACCOUNTABILITY:
Â
Working under general supervision, is accountable for assisting in documentation of
design of existing and new products. Cooperates with Sales, Marketing, Customer
Service, and Technical Support in creating product literature.
Â
SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
Â
Requires above average knowledge and understanding of mechanical concepts, and
must be able to communicate verbally, in written form, and graphically (drawing creation).
College level study of 2 – 4 years, or 4 – 6 years of practical experience.Â
Computer aided design (AutoCAD) experience required; 3D solids modeling (Solidworks)
experience desirable.

  PURPOSE:     Communicate design details, marketing concepts, technical support,
