Engineering - Mechanical

Job Purpose:

Provides engineering services for a variety of product development/improvement activities.

Duties:

* Design and develop the safest possible products in compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.

* Perform engineering duties surrounding the following: mechanical devices, components, materials handling, machine tools, robots, and automated manufacturing equipment.

* Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include:  preliminary design, calculation, bills of material, etc.

* Prepare and interpret blue prints, schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids

* Prepare technical construction specifications.

* Maximize personal productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications.

* Research, develop, and select materials and designs.

* Follow procedures for systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records.

* Prepare activities reports.

* Train and/or instruct others in fabrication, testing, and inspection.

* Perform warranty reviews.

* Maintain contact with customers and outside vendors as assigned.

 

* Follow all company policies and procedures (includes engineering and quality system procedures).

Skills/Qualifications:

Posses strong interpersonal and oral communication skills, demonstrate excellent written communication, demonstrate ability to follow and implement insturctions/directions form supervisor, demonstrate advanced skills: material knowledge, espcially plastics, blue print knowledge, and part measurement, dedicated to the team work approach (ability to work well with others), commiteed to quality management, possess strong ethics, good jugdement, and adaptability, is organized, dependable, and professional.
