At Volt Professional Search, we are helping our client seek a dedicated, energetic, team-player for the position of Engineering Liaison. The Engineering Liaison role is a high visibility position. The successful candidate will be accountable for contributing to the development and troubleshooting of complex components and subsystems of locomotives, as well as for guiding new technical development. In this position, the liaison will identify and resolve design and manufacturing issues. She or he will also have oversight over all internal functional areas of Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Purchasing, and will manage the relationship with external customers. Requirements: Responsibilities include: - Main point of contact between the manufacturing operations and engineering. - Troubleshooting the mechanical and electrical systems on the locomotives. - Training field service engineers/technicians. - Work closely with internal business partners. - Interaction with Railroad customers. - Travel of 10-25% may be required. Requirements: - 4-Year Engineering degree - Must possess strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. - 2+ years of problem solving experience in product related projects using 6 Sigma and/or other problem identification and resolution tools. - Possess excellent analytical and communication skills. - Must be a self starter, accountable, and customer driven with strong teamwork,organizational, and interpersonal skills. Individuals should possess an above average level of engine and components knowledge. An understanding of locomotive systems is desired. Candidate must possess strong problem solving skills and be able to work with complex systems. The candidate must be mobile with strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Must also possess strong communication skills, business acumen, and customer focus. Knowledge of electronic tools is a benefit.Successful candidate will have previous experience in one of the following areas 1) diesel electric locomotives 2) head end power 3) electric locomotives and also must understand FRA rules and AAR maintenance standards. Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams and wiring blueprints, basic understanding of microprocessor control systems and be able to troubleshoot electrical issues.
