Engineering Assistant

Qualified candidate will be responsible for administrative functions and the document control of the PDM system for the Engineering and Quality departments in order to optimize their efficiency. 



 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:Maintain New Product Development Project / product information, files and records (both hardcopy and in PDM, as appropriate)Engineering item master maintenance in AS400.  Run queries and reports using AS400.  Assist in preparation of quote / bid packages to suppliers.Prepare and maintain departmental purchase orders for approval, including numerical P.O. assignment.  Special projects (example: Master Product Catalog Reference Document).Tracking of department metrics.Purchasing and maintenance of department supplies, copy room and conference roomsReview document and drawings for completeness and accuracy; and routing for approval through PDM systemInsure appropriate revision controls are applied and changed documents are issued to distribution points, including vendors.Maintenance and updating of project timelines and related reportsScheduling and coordinating department events, meetings, travel, etc.  Creation and distribution of reports and presentations for the department.Tracking of receipts and shipments of department packages.  UPS shipping (domestic & international) Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.Summarize meeting minutes and actionsPerform other duties as required by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



 AS degree in business, computer or similar, preferred.Minimum 5 -7 years as an Engineering Administrative Assistant, preferred Excellent working knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Excel, and WordExperience with engineering PDM systemsKnowledge of product data structures, BOM’s, engineering drawings and specificationsKnowledgeable of revision control; as well as configuration management, desiredFamiliarity with ERP systems, AS400Customer service orientedStrong work ethicExcellent organization skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.Attention to detail.  Good verbal and written communication skills.
