This is an excellent opportunity to join our staff in a role that will provide strategic direction for ATK Tactical Propulsion and Controls locations. Alliant Techsystems, Tactical Propulsion and Controls Division, with an office located in Rocket Center, WVA is currently seeking an entry level Design Engineer to generate and design/ develop a conceptual rocket motor to meet performance specifications. In this position, you will support the product development team to transition a motor design concept into aflight ready system. Responsibilities for this position include: - Preliminary structural and thermal analysis, Technical Data Package generation, - Preparation of test plans and reports, manufacturing support and customer interface. - Good oral and written communications skills are required. Requirements for this position include: - Bachelors degree in Mechanical/ Aerospace Engineering, Chemical or Engineering Mechanics; - A minimum of 1 year or more of relevant work experience with mechanical design engineering systems and mechanical design - Working knowledge of solid and fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, thermodynamics and mechanical design. - Experience with 3-D modeling and computational fluid dynamics tools are desired. - Laboratory or internship experience that involved planning, design, data acquisition and reduction and simulation is also desired. - Experience with logical problem solving skills and presentation/ writing skills - Experience with working in a team environment is also desired - US Citizenship is required With $4.5 billion in annual sales, approximately 17,000 employees, and operations in 21 states, ATK is a company on the move!
