Elevator Systems Engineer

Work closely with our engineering teams around the world to define global component and elevator system concepts and requirements enabling Otis(`9 products to be the most competitive and robust in the market. Support elevator system and component development teams by: 1. Develop Tools and Methodologies to assist Area System Integration Teams 2. Develop Training to facilitate the development of system engineering competencies world wide. 3. Work closely with both the SITs and global component development teams to define technical requirements. 4. Perform system and component trade-studies to identify cost/performance optimal configurations and break-points. 5. Support elevator system verification and validation. 6. Manage global component interface development and change. 7. Support the definition and analysis of new elevator system concepts. 8. Utilize state-of-the-practice modeling and simulation tools to help reduce product development cycle time. 9. Creation of elevator system engineering standards and standard work. 10. Mentor and train future elevator system engineers. BS degree in Mechanical Engineering required. MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is a plus. - 5 years or more of mechanical design experience is required with more than 3 years elevator industry experience - Strong teaming skills with diverse global development center interactions - Self driven individual with strong communication skills - Must be proficient in spoken and written English - Ability to organize tasks and work with a project plan - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
