This position will plan, create and comply with specification evaluations; along with coordinating design and development projects for the electronics project team. This function will be accountable for electrical architectural application and discovery in the area of electronics, control, and human machine interface and system integration.

Conduct & attend Technical Design Reviews, Failure Mode and Effect Analyses, etc., and contributes sound professional opinion, creative ideas, concepts, and approaches to new product design and development projects.

Apply Innovation/Screening tools to technology options.

Determine the electrical application feasibility of new product concepts. Prepare detailed project plans including technical objectives and approaches, design specifications, test specifications, schedule plans, project cost estimates and product cost analyses.

Direct and coordinate all work by supplier engineers, support personnel, and outside groups involving design, development, drafting, prototype construction, and test and evaluation of product concepts. Work closely with project groups to assure smooth transition to product development.

Mentor less senior engineers and technical support personnel in technical areas as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Electromechanical) with six years of steadily increasing experience or Master’s Degree in Engineering or in Business Administration with three years of experience. Preferred experience – automotive tier one, appliance design and development, mechanism design, EMC experience very beneficial..
