Electro Mechanical Designer

We are looking for a senior level designer to fill this position.  The person selected will have a key role in the Design Engineering group.

 

 

Position Purpose:

 

Under the minimal direction of the Supervisor of Mechanical Engineering is responsible for the designs and documentation, up to and including final engineering drawings, operational and/or functional performance tests for the manufacture of instrumentation. 

Essential Job Functions (primary duties and outputs of position):

 

·  Designs products and systems to meet process requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles and machine capabilities. Researches and analyzes data, such as customer specifications to determine feasibility of design. 

·  Alters or modifies system components of products to ensure conformance with engineering design to obtain specified functional and operational performance per customer specifications. Confers with manufacturing personnel and other engineers to implement designs and resolve system malfunctions, and to provide technical information. May coordinate and direct subordinate drafters/designers.  Selects or designs appropriate test tools to meet specifications. Other duties as assigned.

 Minimum Requirements

 Technical undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience5-10 years experience in designing product in a manufacturing environment. Thorough knowledge of design and drafting techniques, ASME Y14.5M Dimensioning and Tolerancing.  Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is a plus.  Experienced in the use of computer aided design software, such as Solidworks and AutoCAD.Knowledge and prior experience with ASME piping and welding standards. Knowledge of electronic design a plus.Must be able to read, write, and speak in English.

 

Hours:

 

Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (4/10 alternative work week)
