Electrical Engineer - Hardware Design

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our organization. The Electrical or Hardware Designer will perform product-engineering development and product support activities as directed. Requires working in a team environment with other disciplines and departments, such as Mechanical Design, Quality, Operations, Marketing and Sales. Also, requires working with external contractors, customers and suppliers, dependent upon project and program activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Micropower system design Design and code microcontrollers to achieve product mission objectives Prepare design documentation, specifications, and cost estimates Develop circuits with emphasis on analysis
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BSEE required; MSEE preferred Understanding of embedded controllers, micropower, and software coding for microcontrollers Hands on understanding of Altium or other electrical CAD Experienced working with PDM systems Experience and good working knowledge of NPD tollgate and ECR processes Qualification testing Broad based experience with electronic component manufacturers and their selection Good knowledge and experience with PCB and PCBA manufacturing processes Knowledge and experience with the design of production test equipment and fixtures (ICT and functional). Familiar and knowledgeable with IPC and other electronics industry standards Familiar and knowledgeable with RoHS requirements Experienced working with overseas ECM’s. Knowledge of statistical tools and techniques. Demonstrates a commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines Ability to conceptualize, analyze and execute Good oral and written communication skills Able to work independently and with diversified teams Good project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently to meet deadlines Strong work ethic Excellent attitude, works extremely well with others
Preferred:
Switching Power Supply Design Understanding of UL, CE and worldwide safety standards TI MSP430, MicroChip Experience Hands on knowledge of test instrumentation and development systems Knowledge of and exposure to patents
