Electrical Design Engineer

Atlas Copco Drilling Solutions is responsible for the R&D, manufacturing and marketing of a wide range of rotary drilling equipment for surface mining, deephole drilling, civil construction, waterwell, aggregate/quarry, and oil and gas markets around the world. ACDS employs about 1000 people worldwide. ACDS has it’s headquarter and main production site in Garland, Texas, USA.  We have an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer/Designer.

 Position Objective:

 

Due to an increase in production workload an additional Electrical Engineer is needed to keep up with demand.  This position deals primarily with electrical power and control systems.Principal Responsibilities:

·         Engineering and Design of electrical power circuits, interlocks, HMI/MMI interfaces

       & controls.  Ability to work with NEC codes, Nema, CE, IEC and other standards.

 

·         Creating specifications and drawings, inspections of the designed/ specified systems, vendor development and Bill Of Materials.

 

·         Willingness & ability to work with peers, sourcing, marketing, manufacturing, service groups and render customer support in tune with company policies.

 

·         Design and improve on the existing design of the AC and DC schematics based on the changed requirements and options.

 

·         Work with medium voltage drive systems from 4160VAC to 7200 VAC at 50/60 Hz with DOL starters  and Soft Starters.

 

·         Troubleshooting ability. Startup suport.  Knowledge of software (Microsoft products) and system automation is desired.

 

Education:

BSEE

 

 Experience:

We will consider candidates between 0-5 years.  Pro E is desirable.

 

Comments:

The job may involve travel up to 20%.  This will include some international travel and some trips may last 3-4 weeks.
