Position Title:  Expeditor 

Reports To: Manager, Materials or Manager, Planning 

Department: Planning/Purchasing

Job Summary:

 

Responsible for ensuring  all materials required for scheduled production are ordered and received in a timely manner. This position works very closely with the plant production planners to understand all future production schedules. Material availability must be evaluated  and supply ensured.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

Updates open order report of suppliers on daily basis and update system with that information.

 

Contacts suppliers proactively to confirm delivery of parts prior to scheduled delivery of product.

 

Attends Shortage meetings and contacts suppliers to get updates on shortages and updates business system with updated dates.

 

Maintain a past due percentage of less than 3%.

 

Qualifications:

 

Some college or equivalent work experience.

 

Background in manufacturing and/or operations preferred.

 

Strong computer skills with Symix knowledge preferred.
