ETL Developer

 The ETL Developer contributes and provides significant contributions in the design, coding, testing, support and debugging of new Informatica ETL mappings or enhancements to existing ETL mappings for the development and growth of Toro’s Enterprise Data Warehouse. They will collaborate with other developers and contribute to the development of specifications to resolve business client questions, problems, and to address enhancement needs. They will also interact directly with business clients and serve as a mentor to lower level developers

Duties and Responsibilities

·  Partner with Business Analysts, Data Analysts and Data Architect to design ETL mappings, code, test, debug, document and implement complex ETL applications

·  Analyze data requirements and translate them into technical requirements

·  Lead the ETL design phase of data warehouse projects by providing technical expertise and direction to the project team

·  Manage delivery to both the functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, availability, reliability and security

·  Support, improve, and adhere to Toro software development process (SDLC), standards, and best practices

·  Solve complex technical problems and effectively communicate solutions to data architect, analyst, peers and management

·  Demonstrate self driven, highly motivated, excellent communication skills

·  Provide detail analysis and design for new processes, enhancement, and maintenance of ETL systems

·  Ensure that processes are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency

·  Provide technical advice and coaching to other department personnel with less experience

Specifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and 6 + years experience in software development.

Capabilities

·  Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support

·  Ability to technically lead and to work with other team members

·  Ability to work with and to understand business client requirements

 

Applicable Applications Experience

·  Proficiency with Informatica

·  Strong background in ETL in Data Warehouse environments

·  Expertise in dimensional databases

·  Proven experience working with others on team based projects

·  Understanding of ETL/application architecture, system design

·  Experience with SQL, schema optimization, database tuning and database architecture and database management
