EPS ENGINEER - EXPERIENCED CUSTOMER INTERFACE, VEHICLE TUNING ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 



•Provide technical leadership for projects incorporating electric power steering
•Serve as technical liaison to customers, consolidate and negotiate customer requirements and vehicle specific interfaces
•Approve specification release and change, support configuration management
•Prototype vehicle build support, system tuning and trouble shooting
•Design and optimize simultaneous system performance goals through requirements flow down
•Effectively integrate all aspects of a design through the use of multi-disciplinary engineering
•Tune vehicle steering characteristics, diagnose and correct deficiencies in designs and prototypes
•Understand and write system and subsystem specifications
•Assist in system testing and verification activities
•Assist in maintaining cost controls
•Stay abreast with new technology

REQUIRED:

•Excellent problem solving techniques
•Enjoy driving and evaluating vehicles
•Knowledge of system synthesis, analysis, and verification techniques
•Minimum of three years experience in systems or automotive engineering
•Must have excellent communication skills and a desire to work with people.
•Good organization and documentation abilities
•General competency in all core fields (mechanical, electronics, controls, computer hardware and software) is preferred
•Background in automotive engineering and chassis systems (steering, braking, suspension) is preferred.
•Strong computer skills, especially in spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) and knowledge of simulation tools (e.g. Matlab) is preferred.
•Familiarity with PDP and other project management processes is preferred.

EDUCATION:
•BSEE (preferred) or BSME
