PEP manufactures: standard, modified and custom enclosures and cabinets; cases, subracks, backplanes, turn-key and custom microcomputer systems; and high volume stamped chassis and assemblies.  With North American facilities located in California, Illinois, Rhode Island, and Mexico, Pentair Electronic Packaging is structured for success.   The Engineering Intern is responsible for using the business information systems from provided specifications and directions to develop Mfg. Engineering Methodologies and Lean documentation as required ensuring the highest level of profitability, cost savings, and customer satisfaction. This position reports to the Value Engineer Manager.   Responsibilities:   ·   Create and develop Standard Work & Work instructions to support Lean initiatives. ·   Development of tooling and fixturing to support Production.  · Provides Mfg. Engineering and Lean support and generates support   documentation on schedule consistent with provided instructions. · Performs investigation to obtain missing information and to insure all specifications are correctly presented in documentation. · Performs required calculations to insure all documents and other specifications are correct as presented with minimal checking required. · Other duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.   Requirements:   · Currently enrolled in a 4 year Engineering degree program.   · Experience with Microsoft Office and other business information systems. ·   Experience with CAD - Solid Works preferred.   · Experience with Lean Manufacturing preferred. · Work performed with high degree of accuracy and minimal rework required.   · Strong communication and interpersonal skills needed.   · Ability to keep supervisor informed of all matters.   · Provides value-added response to all important matters.   · Is prompt and presents a professional image. · Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
