Drafter/Designer

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

Experience with manufacturing machine drawings, assembly drawings, exploded views, BOM tables

 

Knowledge of drafting symbols and standard practices

 

 Basic 3D solid modeling experience in part and assembly modes

 

Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Creation of manufacturing, process, tooling, and equipment drawings 

 

Liaison with tool / die suppliers

 

Assist with the development of tool and die program including initial qualification and changes

 

Assist with the development of documentation control including customer drawings and externally supplied specifications that will comply with ISO 9000 system requirements

 

Maintenance of documentation control of drawings and specifications

 

Minimal ProE solid modeling may be required

 

Other duties as deemed necessary to support product design / development team

 

OTHER PREFERABLE EXPERIENCE:

 

Performs those duties essential to the transformation of specialized instrument and equipment requirements into efficient hardware through the design and drafting process. Duties require knowledge of machine design and drafting process. Duties require knowledge of machine design to the extent that simple design calculations in the areas of strength of materials, weight control, heat transfer, etc., may be accomplished. Other duties may require knowledge of materials selection, shop practice, cost evaluation, and component availability.
