Division Engineering Team Lead/Manger - Mentor, OH Since 1936, Aircraft Wheel & Brake has been a recognized leader in themanufacture of aircraft wheel and brake systems and related hydraulic products for the general aviation, business aviation, rotorcraft, and military aircraft markets, including our popular Cleveland Wheels & Brakes product line. The Aircraft Wheel & Brake Division is located in Avon, Ohio. Position Title: Division Engineering Team Lead: ManagerPosition Summary:Broad responsibility and leadership for division design engineering, product development and engineering support functions. Serves as the prime contact on product capabilities and future efforts. Participates in determining and implementing longer-term strategic objectives with impact on profitable division growth and customer service. Continually improves the cost effectiveness of the technical team and associated systems and methods. Typically a staff level at a medium to small division, single plant or satellite facility of a larger division, or for an engineering section with extensive engineering requirements of a large division.Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Responsible for division engineering and technical support areas with varied and/or multiple functions. Interprets technical needs of customers and develops product and/or technical support strategies. Customer products and/or systems needs normally fall within a standard to extensive range of technical complexity and integration requirements. Customer base or products is relatively cohesive. Has access to internal engineering resources.Highly visible position with primary responsibility for functions involving substantial division resources and/or revenue. Has significant impact on division engineering costs and technical resource allocation. Has responsibility for developing, introducing, and continuous improvement of technology, products and/or processes. Serves as an influential customer contact on significant technical matters (e.g. new products, development schedules) and is instrumental in attracting and obtaining new business. Requirements: 1. Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a related technical discipline required: advanced degree preferred. 2. Ten or more years of major technical and professional accomplishments, and five or more years of overall responsibility for leadership of projects and teams. Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results.3. Required: Aerospace experience: Highly Desired – Experience in Wheel & Brake and/or Anti-skid and/or Landing Gears; knowledgeable in hydraulics a plus.4. Required: Knowledge of mechanical systems integration and working knowledge of Electronics and Control Systems. Must be able to demonstrate and understanding of how brakes function and system integration.5. Required: Leadership experience, comfortable with change management and implementation. Must be able to demonstrate teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. 6. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serves as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
