Director of Operations
The Director fo Operations leads the overall Operations activity in the North Billerica, MA facility. Manages, leads and motivates the Operations activities of our manufacturing business including hiring of Operations personnel. The position reports to the Vice President of Engineering and Operations and helps plan, manage and direct the activities of the entire manufacturing facility, as well as interfacing and coordinating with international manufacturing operations in Shanghai, China. Has day-to-day responsibility for all Operations functions and personnel in North Billerica. In conjunction with Engineering and Marketing, participate in coordinating new product transfer to manufacturing. Generates forecasts and trends.
Responsibilities of this role:
Cost controls materials, scrap, labor, overhead and the entire production process.
Budget planning & monitoring for operations.
Interface with R&D concerning the technical aspects of the manufacturing process.
Personnel management, ISO coordination and IT supervision.
Production scheduling & coordination of daily output versus incoming orders.
Balance production demands versus inventory controls.
Production planning to meet growth requirements
Skills Required for this position:
Experience in tech transfer
Exposure to building of process machines
Work cell design/Kaizen
Experience with Lean Mfg
Experience in Capacity planning/ERP
Experience with supervision of at least 200 individuals
Experience in an environment with annual turnover 100MM minimum
Must have experience in a Multi shift manufacturing environment
Multi site /international potential
Must be effective in dealing with employees and management.
Must be detail oriented, organized and have an extensive background in technical production issues
Must have the ability to travel approximately 25%
