Director of Manufacturing 

 

The Director of Manufacturing will manage all aspects of manufacturing operations for Hayward site location, establish and prioritize goals and objectives, and enforce deadlines. In doing so, the individual will recommend and implement solutions for changes and improvements using experiences in Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma applications, continuous process improvement, ERP, Quality Systems Management, Materials Management & Supply Chain Management.

 

Facility Description:

 Recently re-located and expanded manufacturing operations to new 48,000 Sq. Ft. Facility with a significant increase in capacitySite currently employs approximately 50 people to service framing and mounting needs for the western region, seasonally expands to over 100 employees 

 RESPONSIBILITES:

 Manages workflow, people and resources of the entire manufacturing facilityProduces and implements operational schedules and coordinates activities to ensure quality of product meets standardsDirects and reports on the production facility to ensure that the Days to Ship, First Pass Yield, Cost, Safety, Returns & Re-ships and other quality/efficiency metrics are maintainedReports and compiles production dataMust have strong project management skills, collaborative, decisive.Willingness to receive and share manufacturing best practices with other subsidiaries.Implements and/or revises standard operational and working practices and ensures manufacturing staff complies with standardsWorks to resolve operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delaysResponsible for recruiting for the department, as well as the development of leadership training and development programs within the departmentConducts employee performance reviews and provides continuous coaching to the teamDetermines when raw materials need to be ordered and in what quantities. May also place orders as required.Strives for Continuous Improvement using Lean/Six Sigma toolsWorks with the Customer Service Department to maintain and service customers' needsMaintains a variety of records related to the above duties

REQUIREMENTS:

 5-7 Years Management experience in relevant roles Proven track record with managing at least 100 employeesBachelors Degree in Engineering/Business Management required. Industrial Engineering Degree Preferred.  Experienced in Lean/Six Sigma methodologiesStrong communication and analytical skills with demonstrated leadership qualitiesDemonstrated record of employee development especially at management/team leader levelHighly organized team player able to interact with all levels of employeesProficient with PC applications and ERP systems, prefer Oracle or SAP experienceProcess oriented and metrics drivenExperience in high volume, custom manufacturing a plus
